Good evening wrestling fans! It’s almost pay-per-view time again and I am excited for this one. While the show doesn’t have the most note worthy card, I think it has enough little things here and there to make it a very interesting show. In my opinion there are two major story lines driving this show. The biggest story line has to be the match between Sting and Seth Rollins. This could be the first and only time we see Sting win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. That would be a monumental moment in wrestling history. The other major story line is between the Wyatt Family and the team of Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. The hook in this story is the mystery partner for the match. For once WWE has actually done a good job of hiding the identity of this mystery partner. I have heard a lot of rumors floating around but none of them really seem reasonable in my opinion.

Night of Champions is always a fun night with every title on the line I am sure we will see more than a few title changes. So with out further delay lets get into making some predictions!

Match 1: Pre-Show: Neville and The Lucha Dragons vs The Cosmic Wasteland

JP Prediction: I am personally really excited for the new Cosmic Wasteland gimmick. I feel like this gimmick could be a really fun addition to the three-man tag mix and the tag team division. As for the match I think this will be a great pre-show match, I predict it to be very fast past with a lot of high flying and flipping around. So if that is your style you will really enjoy this one. I am sure it will be a short match but I expect Cosmic Wasteland to come away with the win here. I feel like WWE is trying to get the ball rolling with these guys and if they want us to take the gimmick seriously they need some wins. Ascension has been a complete joke since moving to the main roster and Stardust has really been on a losing streak as of late. So if they want us to believe these guys are anything but jobbers, they need to start winning.

Winner: Cosmic Wasteland

Match 2: New Day vs The Dudley Boyz for the WWE Tag Team Championships

JP Prediction: If you follow JWN on twitter you will know that I am a huge New Day fan. I think New Day is the best thing going on in WWE wrestling right now, they have just been killing it. On the other side of the coin we have the Dudley Boyz, who made their long awaited WWE return earlier this month. These guys are still in fantastic shape and they have really brought a nice buzz to the tag team division. I am honestly not sure what kind of match these guys will have and I have no idea what story will be told during the match. I can honestly see this match going either way. Part of me feels like WWE will throw the belts on the Dudley’s just because that’s what they do. But personally I really hope they keep the belts on New Day. New Day has been so much fun to watch and I really like when the baby faces are in chase mode. I want the Dudley’s to have the titles, just not yet. I want New Day to have a nice long run with these titles! IT IS WHATS BEST FOR BUISNESS!!!

Winner: NEW DAY….NEW DAY …NEW DAY

Match 3:  Kevin Owens vs Ryback for the Intercontinental Championship

JP Prediction: This was a nice surprise match for the card. I don’t say that because I think the match will be great but because anytime Kevin Owens has a chance to win a title it’s a good thing. That being said I think this will be a decent match. Kevin Owens almost never has a bad match and Ryback can have a good one every now and again. I look for this to be a shorter match but I think this will be the one of the title changes of the night. I really think Ryback’s title run has been a bit of a dud. Ryback has been cutting decent promos and the fans still seem behind him but he just hasn’t done anything or fought anyone of relevance since winning the title. It is Kevin Owens time to hold a title on the main roster and I can’t wait to see what he does with the title on his shoulder.

 

Winner: Kevin Owens wins and becomes your new IC Champion.

Match 4:  Nikki Bella vs Charlotte for the Divas Championship

JP Predictions: This match is pretty much a forgone conclusion at this point baring some weird WWE last minuet change. I can’t see any scenario where Charlotte loses this match. The stupid finish to Monday's match infuriated many fans including my self. WWE really missed an opportunity to create a memorable moment by having Charlotte win the title and keep Nikki from breaking the record. That would have been a very special moment and would have been remembered for a while. This match is set up for Charlotte to walk away with the title. I think this will be a really good match, both these ladies can work well together and they can both wrestle. I think it will be a solid 5-10 minuet match with lots of back and forth action. I see Charlotte walking away with the win bringing in a new era in the diva’s division.

Winner: Charlotte wins and becomes the new Diva’s Champion

Match 5: John Cena vs Seth Rollins for the United States Championship

JP Prediction: This will be the first of two matches Seth Rollins will participate in at Night of Champions. These two had a decent match at Summer Slam and I look for this one to be much of the same. I think it will be a fun match to watch and there will be lots of back and forth action. I really don’t see Seth Rollins winning this match. I think John Cena will walk away with the title and honestly I am fine with that. I really enjoyed John’s last US Championship run and I look for this new one to be a lot like his last run. I will be very excited to see the return of the John Cena US championship open challenge on Monday night Raw. The question that remains is will  this be the only title Seth loses tonight??

Winner: John Cena will walk away the new WWE United State Champion

Match 6: Rusev vs Ziggler in a please in this feud match.

JP Prediction: Yea I’m not even going to pretend I care about this one. I think this could be one of the worst feuds in WWE history. The story line makes no since and who honestly cares about the out come of this one. This feud has been so bad that it turned Ziggler into a heel and Rusev into a face, which I don’t think was suppose to happen. I hope this match will end the feud and allow these two to move onto something bigger and better. That is all I really have to say about this one.

Winner: Ziggler gets the win thanks to some kind of funny business from Summer

Match 7: The Wyatt Family vs Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose and A mystery partner.

JP Prediction: As I said in the intro this is one of the matches I am looking forward to and I think it is one of the big draws for the show. WWE has done a fantastic job of keeping the mystery partner a secret and that has me very excited for the match. In the back of my mind I am afraid of the big WWE let down but I really hope that is not the case. I hope WWE goes outside of the box and picks someone new and unique and avoids the obvious picks. As far as the match is concerned this is basically Wyatt’s vs Shield 2.0 and we all know how good the previous matches these guys had were. I think this will be a great match providing WWE picks a good partner. I  am predicting this to be the match of the night and also see this being a possible seed planter for the break up of Roman and Dean. I really want the Wyatt’s to win this match. I really like the Wyatt family and I want them to get a huge push. I think this match can be the launching pad for that push. WWE has an opportunity to create a really creepy and strong stable and I hope they don’t continue to drop the ball with them.

Winner: Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and the mystery partner. This pains me to predict because I really want that Wyatt Family Push!!!

Match 8:  Seth Rollins vs Sting for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

JP Prediction: Finally we make it to the main event match. This is one I am really looking forward to. It is very exciting to see Sting in the title picture for a short time. I may be in the minority but I really hope Sting gets the win and leaves with the title. I don’t want to see Sting have long title run but I would be perfectly fine with him holding the title until the next pay-per-view. I think Sting deserves to have this title on his resume and this is the perfect time to make that happen. I have really enjoyed Seth Rollins title run but I will enjoy seeing him wine and cry about losing both his titles in one night. I think he will be must see TV if he loses both in one night. I just hope Sting is on TV more that Brock was when he was the champ. I think the match will be a decent match. Sting looked good in his matches on Raw this past week. He did not look like he got to tire and his moves were there. Rollins can wrestle a shovel and I would find it entertaining so I am not worried about this match being boring.

Winner: I am going out on a limb here but I am picking the icon STING!!!!!
