Payback Predictions

Predictions for WWE Payback Sunday May-17-2015 :

Hello wrestling fans I hope you all are getting excited for Payback tonight I think it will be a pretty good show considering there wasn't much time between pay-per-views. I feel like we just finished Extreme rules like a week ago and we have another "pay-per-view" of sorts coming up in just a few short weeks with Extreme rules. Well with out further blabbing here are my predictions for tonights show hope you enjoy them.


Pre-show Match:  Macho Mandow & Axelmania vs Ascension: 

I am not really expecting much from this match. I assume it will most likely be nothing but comedy and lots of old references to Hulk and Macho. My guess is Mandow and Axelmania go over in a short match.

Winner: Macho Mandow & Axelmania 


Match 1: Bray Wyatt vs Ryback: 

This is a real head scratcher match from top to bottom. Both these guys really need wins and neither can afford to take a loss. I honestly cant remember the last time either man won a meaningful pay-per-view match on their own. I think this will probably be a decent match with lots of big guy offense from both men. I really like Bray's in ring style he honestly puts on good matches. My guess is there has to be some kind of interference by Harper and Rowen. I think they will reunite the Wyatt Family tonight and maybe even hint at adding Bo Dallas to the mix.

Winner: Ryback due to interference from Harper and Rowen. 

Match 2) King Barrett vs Neville: 

This will be a great match just like the other matches these two guys have had. My guess is this will be a match filled with lots of Neville offense. I may be wrong on this but I think this is his first appearance on the main card of a pay-per-view. Either way I think Neville will deliver and Barrett will hold his own.

Winner: Neville 

Match 3) Sheamus vs Dolph Ziggler: 

This is a match that Sheamus has to win. There is no other way this one can go, Sheamus came back with a great character and a strong heel look. The only problem is since his return he has done nothing but loss matches. He has been able to off set those losses by crushing Ziggler in different segments on Raw and Smackdown.

Winner: Sheamus 

Match 4) Cesaro & Tyson Kidd vs New Day for the Tag Team Titles: ( 2 out of 3 falls match) 

This is a match I am really excited for! I saw these guys work a live event a few weeks  ago and it was simply awesome. They have great chemistry with one another and New Day is taking so much heat right now its just fantastic. I really like the New Day's heel characters and I know they wont disappoint tonight. This match could even be the match of the night or the "Steal the Show" match. I just cant see New Day losing the titles this early and based on how much the fans hate them I really think is just getting started as the champs. My guess is both teams will exchange wins and New day will win the last fall for the victory.

Winner: New Day ..... New Day ..... New Day  

Match 5) John Cena vs Rusev for the United States Title: ( I Quit Match) 

I really feel bad for Rusev here because we all know there is no way in heck John Cena is going to say I quit. We have all know since the moment this match was announced that John Cena was going over the only questions is how. I feel like this match will be like their other matches and it will be entertaining. My guess is Lana will throw in the towel for Rusev costing him the victory which will kick off her run as a face or the path to her becoming a face. I am really hoping that WWE will come up with some kind of original ending to this match but sadly I think it will play out in a predictable fashion.

Winner: John Cena because Lana throws in the Towel for Rusev

Match 5: Roman Regins vs Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose vs Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavy Weight Championship: 

If the tag match is not the match of the night I think this will be. There is so much that could happen in this match and because of that I really have no idea what will happen with this one. I could honestly see every guy having a shot to win this tonight. The only long shot I can see would be Randy Orton because I just don't see the point of putting the belt on him now. I could see either Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose turning heel tonight and taking the title from Seth. Personally I think it would make more since for Roman Reigns to turn heel. I could see him winning the title and going on a monster heel run claiming the fans made him do it. It would be just like the Rock's heel turn back in the day. I have a hard time believing that Dean Ambrose will turn heel tonight. He is so over right now with the fans I cant imagine them scrapping all that. But if he does turn heel we all know he will deliver night in and night out. Dean has always been a great heel in his older work and him turning would bring a fresh story line to WWE. But ultimately I hope that Seth Rollins wins this match and continues his nice title reign. I have really enjoyed Seth's whinny heel act and I wouldn't mind it continuing for a few more months.

Winner: Seth Rollins
