Tyler Breeze To Raw: Mistake or Genius ?

Over the weekend a rumor popped up on the internet of yet another NXT guy leaving for the main roster. This rumor was about none other than Prince Pretty himself Tyler Breeze. The rumor is that he will be making his main roster debut very soon, maybe even tonight on Raw! Like most people I was excited to hear this news. I really enjoy Tyler's work in NXT and I find his character to be very entertaining. I think he has one of the best gimmicks in NXT right now and like everyone I have been looking forward to his main roster debut for a while now. That being said I am slightly concerned by this rumor and part of me really doesn't want to see him leave NXT. The Prince Pretty character works well in NXT and the fans love it.  It seems like a larger than life personality which always leads to great television. My concern however is that Tyler Breeze will be debuting to the main roster only to receive the Fandango treatment. For some reason the main roster crowds don't respond well to NXT's interesting cast of characters. If you want proof look no further than the likes of Bo Dallas, Neville, Adam Rose and Xavier

Woods (pre New Day). These guys all had fun characters in NXT and they all were primed for success when they hit the main roster. But all of these guys fell flat on their face even if they started off strong. Neville has been in and out of pointless feuds with Stardust and other mid card guys.  Bo Dallas started off strong with a nice winning streak only to have it squashed and to my knowledge he has not won a game since. Adam Rose had a gimmick that was WAY over in NXT! He only lasted a few months on the main roster before feuding with a stupid bunny and falling into nothingness. All that to say I have a good reason to be concerned about the future of Tyler Breeze.

Now I know what a lot of you are thinking "It's the writers fault" and I don't totally disagree with you. I think the success and failure of a lot of these stars falls on the writers. If you look at all of the guys I mentioned before none of them have been give a solid story line or chance to succeed. They are all stuck in wrestling limbo due to their unusual characters. Breeze has a character that could easily work on the main roster. I think the selfie gimmick and the "smolder" look will be very over if used in a classic heel gimmick. I could also see Tyler and Dolph coming together to create some kind of tag team, which would be absolute money! But part of me still doesn't like the main roster move. My last fear is based on the fact that Breeze really hasn't done a lot "title" wise in NXT. He has been in the title picture a few times and he has had some big name matches with guys like Jushin Thunder Liger but he has never won the title. I don't know if it was a lack of confidence in Breeze or just a classic case of bad timing but I think Breeze should have been crowned NXT champion a while ago. 

Hopefully the rumors are true and Breeze will make his long awaited debut to the main roster and I really hope he is given a solid chance to succeed. I would love to see him come in and beat John Cena for the US Title and follow with a long and dominant run! I am talking a run where he just beats everyone in a slimy heel fashion and brags about it constantly. I want him to beat baby faces and take selfies with his knocked out enemies, how cool and funny would that be? I guess only time will tell what Tyler's main roster call up will look like but I am hoping for great things for him! I want Tyler Breeze to succeed and I want him to break the supposed "NXT guy" curse. 

Keep an eye out tonight for Tyler Breeze and lets see what happens!!!
