Raw Review 5/25/2015

Here is the review for tonights RAW live from Long Island.

Raw Kicks off with a great show of respect for the American Soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice.  We cant forget why we are able to watch this and enjoy our freedoms, its because of those Soldiers.

Intro to Raw:

  • This was a nice little opening segment. Seth was really good on the mic and he and Dean had a nice little back and forth. I have to honestly say Im getting a little tire of the Justin Bieber jokes. The less he is mentioned on anything the better. Looks like like we get another round of Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs the Authority but this time its in the opening match. Hopefully that means there is something big happening later in the show.

Match 1: Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins and Kane:

  • Not a bad opening match for Raw. These guys went at it and had good pace. I am still not a big fan of all the commercials in the match, the stopping and starting takes away from the action in my opinion. Plus its always the same formula baby faces are dominating when they go to break and they come back with the heels dominating. All that aside I enjoyed the first match and it was a good way to start off the show lets see where we go from here. I also like Dean getting the clean pin over the champ it really makes it feel like he has a chance going into Elimination Chamber. In the back Dean was ambushed by J & J. During the brawl Dean accidentally hit a camera man. I assume this will come back to bite him later in the show I guess we will have to see.

Winner: Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns

Match 2: Rusev vs R-Truth:

  • Well Rusev made short work of R-Truth. It looks like Rusev has dropped the Russian gimmick and gone to a Bavarian style gimmick. I guess that fits altho it will take a little bit of heat off him. He will have to make up for it by being mean to Lana I guess. Rusev begging Lana to come down to the ring was kinda odd he didn't seem very heel like saying "Please come to the ring". After the match Rusev calls out Lana. She finally comes out and Rusev begs her to take him back. She does and he then tells here she needs to say "Its my fault". She refuses and leaves to join Ziggler at the top of the ramp for a smooch. Rusev clocked. This was an ok angle but Rusev is suppose to be a monster heel and he really came off like a whinny school girl here.

Winner: Rusev

Back Stage:

  • Dean Ambrose was sitting back stage when Rollins and HHH confront him about hitting a camera man earlier in the show. Two cops who were with them told Dean he was under arrest. This was an obvious segment but it will be cool to see how Dean will make his way back to the ring to sign the contract by the end of the show. You know he will have something clever up his sleeve.

Match 3: Ryback vs King Barrett:

  • This match was a hype match for the intercontinental title match this Sunday.  Most of the match was focused on Ryback's broken rib and how Barrett was doing more damage to them. Ryback made a quick come back and got the win giving him some momentum going into the match on Sunday. I think Ryback will be a big favorite in that match. I think its time he got a singles title run. It would be fresh and different.

Winner: Ryback

Match 4: Stardust vs Neville:

  • This was a nice match for a quick one. I think these guys could have gone for a little longer and put on somthing special but it was clear they were just building the feud between Bo and Neville with this match. I think that will be a great match on Sunday! It will be a cool NXT flashback.

Winner: Neville

Match 5: Sheamus vs Dolph Ziggler:

  • This is a match we have been seeing a lot of lately. They put on a good show at payback but its starting to ware thin on me a little. These guys need to move on to a new feud please. I want Sheamus to have a big role in the IC title match on Sunday. He needs to come out looking like a beast. Half way through the match here comes Lana to watch Ziggler. I don't understand why she didn't just come out with him to begin with? They hang out back stage and kiss a lot so just pair them up! Stop dragging it out WWE. Rusev comes down to the ring and distracts Ziggler long enough for Sheamus to get the win. Rusev then beat down Ziggler after the match right in front of Lana. She didn't seem to care very much about Ziggler. In fact she didn't care at all.

Winner: Sheamus

Match 6: John Cena vs Zack Ryder:

  • John Cena gave some good credit to Kevin Owens. He introduced his catch phrases and he did a great job of setting up the match. John did a masterful job of talking trash but not putting down Owens. He didn't use humor, he didn't goof off. He just brought it.  I can't lie I was a little disappointed with the Celebrity intro and then Ryder coming out. There was so much build for that? I guess you can't have NXT guys come out every week. That would be to predictable but this wont be a bad match. I feel like they will give Zack a chance to make a splash against Cena. Not a bad match from the two guys. Zack did well and Cena really gave him a good push here. Seeing Zack on the show was kinda cool and while we all knew he didn't stand a chance, there were a few really close pin falls. I love the post match beat down by Owens! Thats two weeks in a row he has left Cena dead in the ring. Owens looks like a total monster going into this fight and I hope he is able to come away looking even stronger on Sunday.

Winner: Cena

Match 7: Paige vs Tamina: With the Bella's on Commentary

  • Im nit going to lie I kinda zoned out for this match. But from what I caught it looked like Tamina picked up the clean win over Paige? There had to be some kind of interference there or something. Hopefully Paige will walk away with the title this Sunday.

Winner: Tamina

Final Segment:

  • The Authority came out and cut a promo about how Dean was not going to make it to sign the contract. As they were talking smack about Ambrose, Reigns music hit and he came down to the ring and begin taking out the Authority. They eventually over powered him. As the Authority was beating down Reigns the sound of police sirens rang out over the crowd. The police car that took away Ambrose rolled into the arena and Dean jumped out and ran to the ring to take out the Authority. He signed the contract and sent the crowd home happy. Not a bad end to the show even if it didn't make since. How did Dean steal a police car and get away from the police? Wouldn't that really get him in trouble since he wasn't in trouble for beating up the camera guy? O well it was still and ok show. WWE has really been delivering the last few weeks, so I think we can over look a sub par Raw.

Thanks for following along wrestling fans.
